Lorna E. Brown-Burton is an “AV” rated attorney who is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida since 1987 and the Southern District of Florida since 1990. Ms. Brown-Burton’s primary area of practice is Workers’ Compensation Defense representing Employers/Self-Insureds/Carriers for 35 years and has experience in the area of Labor and Employment, Social Security Disability and Foreclosure Defense. Ms. Brown-Burton also practices in the area of Bankruptcy Law representing individuals in chapter 7 and chapter 13 petitions.
Ms. Brown-Burton is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section, Labor and Employment Section, Trial lawyers Section and Business Law Section as well as the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar. She is a former Board of Governors, Young Lawyers Division, Seventeenth Circuit representative, with a special appointment to the Board of Governors, Young Lawyers Division, for the 2002-2003 term and is a former elected President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association for the 1996-1997 term.
Ms. Brown-Burton was elected to The Florida Bar Board of Governors as one of the Seventeenth Circuit Representatives for Broward County in 2012 and continues to serve as a 17th Circuit Board of Governors representative through the present and was recently re-elected to serve for 2021-2023.
